01 / The brief

What they needed

Otra Cosa Network needed a public site that could carry its mission without getting in the way of the ask.

Otra Cosa Network is a UK registered charity and a Peruvian registered not-for-profit (NGO). It works on education, environment and empowerment with communities in Huanchaco and the surrounding area of Northern Peru, including informal settlements where many families face insecure housing, limited services and interrupted schooling.

The organisation needed a marketing website that explained its HELP programmes, made volunteering and donations straightforward, and stayed honest about who the work is for — supporters in the UK and the communities the charity serves in Peru.

The brief was not a brochure. It was a working public channel: mission first, journeys for people who want to help, and an editable site the team can keep current as programmes and partnerships change.

02 / What we did

How we approached it

We designed and built a marketing website the charity can run day to day, with clear paths for the actions that matter.

  1. 01

    Mission on the surface

Lead with education, environment and empowerment, and show how contributions support workshops and community programmes in Northern Peru.

  2. 02

    Ways to help

Plain-language journeys for volunteering, donations and staying in touch, so visitors can act without digging through the site.

  3. 03

    Programmes that read clearly

Space for the HELP programmes and related work, written so a first-time visitor can follow what the charity does and why it matters.

  4. 04

    Editable after launch

A content setup the team can update as programmes, partners and calls for volunteers change — without waiting on a developer for every edit.

03 / Who it is for

The people the site has to serve

A site only works when each audience can find their path without a guided tour.

  • Supporters in the UK

People who want to understand the charity, follow the work and give with a clear sense of what their support is for.

  • Prospective volunteers

Visitors considering time in Huanchaco who need a calm, practical path from interest to getting in touch.

  • Partners and referrers

Organisations and individuals who need a credible public face for the UK charity and the Peruvian NGO behind the programmes.

04 / What changed

Outcomes we can stand behind

No invented traffic or fundraising figures — only what the project delivered and what we measured.

  • A public site that matches the work

The live site presents the mission, programmes and ways to help in one place, for audiences in the UK and people connected to the work in Peru.

  • Journeys that stay plain

Volunteering, donations and contact are treated as primary paths, not buried secondary links.

  • Room to keep it current

The charity can refresh programme and campaign content as the year moves on, instead of freezing the site at launch.

  • Measured performance

Desktop Lighthouse on the public homepage scored 99 performance, 100 accessibility, 100 best practices and 100 SEO (17 October 2026).

05 / Results

Measured on the live site

Desktop Lighthouse scores from a run on the public site. They are a snapshot on that day, not a forecast.
