Question 1

How do I get started?

Accepted Answer

Send us a few lines through the contact form or book a free 20-minute call. We'll talk through your goals, timeline and budget, tell you honestly whether we're a good fit, and then send a written proposal with a fixed scope and price.

Question 2

Do you work with small businesses and charities?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We work with small businesses, charities and larger organisations. We'll always be upfront about whether we're the right fit for your project and budget. Registered charities can also apply for a free build through The Wright Grant™, paying only for hosting.

Question 3

How long does a website take to build?

Accepted Answer

It depends on scope. We agree a dated timeline in your written proposal before we start, using week ranges from recent projects of the same type, and we share progress on a staging site throughout, so there are no surprises at launch.

Question 4

Which technology do you build with?

Accepted Answer

We build mainly with Next.js and React, and on Wright Websites CMS™ when your team wants to edit pages visually. We choose the platform that suits your content, budget and team. WebCare™ also looks after sites built by other teams, whatever they run on.

Question 5

Can you migrate my site without losing rankings?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if it's planned properly. We map every old URL to its new home with permanent redirects, keep or improve titles and structured data, test everything before launch and watch Search Console afterwards. A short dip can happen while search engines re-crawl, but the aim is to recover quickly.

Question 6

How is a website project priced?

Accepted Answer

We price each project on its scope, not from a rate card. After a free 20-minute call, we send a written proposal with a fixed scope, timeline and price. The main factors are the number of page templates, content, integrations, catalogue size and how soon you need to launch.

Question 7

Do you charge for a quote?

Accepted Answer

No. The 20-minute call and the written proposal are free, and there's no obligation. If your project needs a paid discovery phase first, for example a complex web application, we'll say so up front and agree that scope separately before any work starts.

Question 8

Should I tell you my budget?

Accepted Answer

It helps. A budget range lets us suggest the right approach rather than the most expensive one. If you're not sure, tell us what you're trying to achieve and we'll explain the options and what drives cost, so you can decide with clear information.

Question 9

How do payments work?

Accepted Answer

Your proposal sets out the price, and each invoice shows when it's due, usually within 14 or 30 days. You get a perpetual licence to use everything we deliver once it's paid for in full. Hosting, email and WebCare™ are billed separately, each on its own terms.

Question 10

Who owns the code?

Accepted Answer

Once the project is paid for in full, you get a perpetual licence to use everything we deliver. If you need full ownership of the intellectual property, for example to sell the product later, we can agree a written assignment as part of your contract.

Question 11

Can we edit the website ourselves?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We set up editor access for your team on Wright Websites CMS™, or a bespoke CMS for web apps, so you can change copy, images, pages and calls to action without a developer. Roles and permissions stop accidental damage, and we train you before launch. Rather not edit it yourselves? A WebCare™ plan covers the edits.

Question 12

Which CMS is right for us?

Accepted Answer

If you mainly publish pages and campaigns, Wright Websites CMS™ lets you edit visually. If your content is tied to a product or a complex workflow, a bespoke CMS fits better. We'll recommend one in discovery based on who edits, how often and what they need.

Question 13

Do you provide training?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every project includes a training session for the people who will edit the site, plus a written guide for your specific set-up. We record the session where possible so new team members can catch up later. Further training, or having us make the edits instead, is available through WebCare™.

Question 14

What is WebCare™?

Accepted Answer

WebCare™ is our support and maintenance service. You get a monthly allowance of hours, 5, 10 or 20, for updates, fixes and improvements, with a team that already knows your site. We agree priorities each month and report on what we've done.

Question 15

What happens if we use all our WebCare™ hours?

Accepted Answer

Work beyond your hours is quoted separately, so nothing is charged without your agreement. You can also move to a larger plan. Unused hours don't roll over; they lapse at the end of each billing period.

Question 16

What happens if my site goes down?

Accepted Answer

If you're a WebCare™ or hosting client, call +44 3309 123 452 or email websites@wrightwebsites.co and we'll start work immediately within your plan's response times. If you're not a client yet, get in touch anyway and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help quickly.

Question 17

Do you support sites you didn't build?

Accepted Answer

Yes. WebCare™ and hosting work on sites built by other teams. We start with a health check of the code, hosting, security and performance, so we both know what we're taking on, and we'll flag anything that needs fixing before we can support it properly.

Question 18

How do I manage my account?

Accepted Answer

Call us on +44 3309 123 452. There's no online account or client login. Our team handles editor access for Wright Websites CMS™, agreeing proposals, billing changes and cancellations for you over the phone, Monday to Friday, 09:30 to 17:00. If you'd rather write first, email websites@wrightwebsites.co and we'll call you back.

Question 19

Do you offer hosting and email?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer managed web hosting with HTTPS, caching, monitoring and backups, and business email on your own domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up properly. Both are optional. You can host elsewhere and still use our build and WebCare™ services.

Question 20

How are backups handled?

Accepted Answer

When backups are part of your hosting, they run automatically for operational recovery. Your order sets out how often they run and how long they're kept, so you know exactly what's covered before you sign up. Ask us if you need a different schedule.

Question 21

Why are our emails going to spam?

Accepted Answer

Usually because your domain's email authentication is missing or wrong. SPF, DKIM and DMARC records tell receiving servers that your messages are genuine. We check and fix all three, align them with every service that sends on your behalf, and monitor DMARC reports afterwards.

Question 22

Can you move our mailboxes from another provider?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We migrate existing mail, folders and contacts from your current provider, plan the switch-over for a quiet time, and set up phones and computers with you. Mail keeps arriving throughout, so your team doesn't lose messages during the move.

Question 23

What are Core Web Vitals?

Accepted Answer

Core Web Vitals are Google's measures of real-world page experience. Largest Contentful Paint measures loading, Interaction to Next Paint measures responsiveness, and Cumulative Layout Shift measures visual stability. Google uses data from real Chrome users, so they reflect what your visitors actually experience.

Question 24

Do Core Web Vitals affect Google rankings?

Accepted Answer

They're one of many page-experience signals Google uses, so they matter most when competing pages are otherwise similar. The bigger effect is on people: faster, steadier pages keep visitors and convert better. We fix them for your users first and search benefits follow.

Question 25

How long does Core Web Vitals work take?

Accepted Answer

Most fixes are made in a few weeks, depending on the codebase. Google's field data covers a rolling 28-day window, so the full effect shows in Search Console about a month after the fixes go live. We measure before and after so you can see the change.

Question 26

How long does SEO take to work?

Accepted Answer

Technical fixes can be picked up as soon as search engines re-crawl your pages, often within weeks. Content and authority take longer, usually months. We focus first on fixes that remove barriers, then build content around the questions your customers really ask.

Question 27

Can you guarantee first place on Google?

Accepted Answer

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Nobody controls Google's rankings. We fix what holds your site back, structure your content clearly and measure progress in Search Console. We never use paid links, fake reviews or simulated clicks.

Question 28

Can you improve our Google Business Profile?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We complete and correct your profile's categories, services, hours, photos and description, keep your name, address and phone number consistent across the web, and help you set up a simple routine for posts and asking customers for genuine reviews.

Question 29

Will AI assistants recommend my business?

Accepted Answer

Nobody can promise that, but you can make it easier. We give AI crawlers clear access, publish structured data and plain answers to real questions, and keep your business details consistent everywhere. That's what helps assistants understand who you are and what you do.

Question 30

Can I leave the monthly website plan?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The monthly plan runs until you cancel. Your proposal sets out the notice period and what we hand over: your domain, content and a route to move hosting if you leave. There are no lock-in fees beyond what's written in that proposal.
